Self-directed, enthusiastic educator committed to the further development of student math appreciation and skills. Phyllis McLennan is experienced in teaching all levels of mathematics with emphasis on a variety of challenging, enriching and innovative activities.

Teaching Experience:

• 1972 – 1974 – Spring Woods High School, SBISD, Houston, Texas. Taught Algebra I and Fundamentals of Math
• 1974 – 1979 – Transferred to Northbrook High School, SBISD, Houston, Texas. Taught Algebra II Honors and Algebra II Regular
• 1979 – 1986 – Moved to Taylor High School, KISD, Katy, Texas. Taught Algebra II Honors, Geometry. Created and taught the curriculum for Calculus and Probabilty/Statistics
• 1986 – 1994 – Accepted the Math Department Chairperson position at Katy High School, KISD, Katy, Texas. Taught Algebra II, Trigonometry, Elementary Analysis, and PreCalculus
• 1994 – 1997 – Applied and acquired the position of Mathematics Instructional Specialist for KISD. My job included curriculum coordination and revision for 1 high school, 2 junior highs and 5 feeder elementary schools. I created math workshops and put together district in-service programs.
• 1997 – 2004 – Decided to go back to the classroom to teach math again. That is what I truly loved to do. I taught every level of math including Algebra II PreAP, PreCalculus PreAP and AP Calculus AB & BC.
• 2004 – Present – MrsTutor.com Private tutoring for all levels of math!

Other Experience:

• 1975 – 2003 – Taught the Alternative Certification math classes, Region IV, Houston, Texas. Also taught the EXCET REVIEW math classes for Region IV
• 1999 – 2003 – Attended the Calculus AP Summer Workshops – Rice University, Houston, Texas
• 2004 – Phyllis McLennan retired in the Spring of 2004 from teaching at KATY ISD!
